These photographs go beyond the style of the snapshot to express, I hope, something more - something magical or mysterious or just outright beautiful. I've been taking photographs for many years and have published several hundred of them in various publications. I love photography. I studied filmmaking at the San Francisco Art Institute and have always been drawn to cinematography. And many of my friends, both in art school and over the years since, have been photographers. I'm well aware of the existing history of art photography and love work by many photographers ranging from European masters to American Masters. Man Ray, Ansel Adams, Diane Arbus, Garry Winogrand, and many others inspire me. I hope you like my work and might even want it to be on view in your home or work space. Thank you. Matt
